The Western Region Islet Study Group (WRISG) 2019 meeting aims to bring together trainees and faculty studying islet biology to share their discoveries, enhance interactions, and encourage collaboration in diabetes across western Canada and the USA. Any research in islet biology is welcome, including beta cell development, beta cell function and dysfunction in diabetes, beta cell death and regeneration, other islet endocrine cells, and islet cell therapy.

This meeting is being organized by the BC Diabetes Research Network, a local organizing committee, a steering committee of WRISG members, and with support from the University of British Columbia and industry partners.

Friday, October 11 (Day 3)

7 am-8 am | Breakfast for meeting delegates

8 am -1 pm | Scientific Seminars Sessions (F G)

1 pm – 2 pm | Lunch -(Boxed lunch available by request at registration)

2:30 pm | Departures

Registration Instructions

There are three steps to register for the WRISG 2019 meeting.

  1. Submit your abstract to the scientific organizing committee through the form on this page.
  2. Register to attend the meeting through UBC Continuing Professional Development website.
  3. Make your hotel reservation at the Inn at Laurel Point.

Abstract submission deadline: July 31, 2019

To submit an abstract to deliver an oral presentation, complete the registration form and follow the prompts to upload your abstract as a Word document.

Register by July 31st and save 50% on meeting registration fees

EARLY BIRD 50% discount

  • Trainee $250 CAD until July 31
  • Faculty $500 CAD until July 31

 

After July 31 full registration fees will apply

  • Trainee $500 CAD
  • Faculty $1000 CAD
