Congratulations to BCDRN member Dr. Elizabeth Rideout and UBC Faculty of Medicine Dr. Wendy Robinson and Dr. Kate Shannon. These three outstanding scientists have been named Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Sex and Gender Chairs.

As recipients of the funding opportunity, they will support in-depth investigations in the emerging field of sex and gender science to deepen society’s understanding of how biological and social influences interact to affect health and disease.
A total of 15 researchers from across Canada were selected as Sex and Gender Chairs to increase visibility and drive innovation in a variety of disciplines, ranging from aging, cancer and immunity through to mental health and addictions.
