Prospective Students

The BC Diabetes Research Network welcomes inquiries from prospective graduate students and post doctoral fellows interested in pursing training in diabetes research in beautiful British Columbia.

Diabetes research and training occurs at multiple sites across the province of British Columbia’s academic institutions including:

UBC Okanagan Campus 

BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute

Vancouver Hospital

Simon Fraser University

University of Northern BC

The BCDRN aims to provide a rich training environment in diabetes research including social activities, visiting speakers, local diabetes research symposia, public engagement, networking events, and funding and educational resources.

Diabetes Journal Club

The British Columbia Diabetes Research Network introduced “Zooming in on Diabetes”- a virtual journal club for trainees in March 2020. Trainees from across UBC research sites present the latest research publications from the field of diabetes research. The intended audience are academic graduate students enrolled at UBC.
