The Islet Study Group (ISG) 2023 meeting aims to bring together international scientists studying islet biology to share their discoveries, enhance interactions, and encourage collaboration.
This meeting is being organized by a local organizing committee, a steering committee of Islet Study Group members and with support from the University of British Columbia and our industry partners.
Scientific session topics will include:
Human pancreatic development
Updates to the glucose stimulated insulin secretion model
Stem cells to islet cells: How close are we?
Immunoprotection of stem cell derived islet surrogates
Expanding roles of islet cells in type 1 diabetes
Regulation of basal insulin secretion: Redox, lipids, and other factors
Individualization of insulin responses from human islets: Translational considerations and consortia
Diabetes genetics and islet genomics
Beta cell biology
Sex differences in islet biology
Registration Instructions
There are three steps to register for the ISG 2023 meeting.
- Submit your abstract to the scientific organizing committee through the ISG 2023 meeting website.
- Pay a registration fee to attend the meeting through UBC Conference Services website.
- Make your accommodation reservation at the University of British Columbia.

- Invited Speaker $500 CAD
- Faculty $600 CAD
Industry Registration Fee
Industry Sponsorship from $1,000-$5,000 CAD
