Diabetes Canada Annual Professional Meeting and the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes are both offering virtual meetings in 2020. The BC Diabetes Research Network (BCDRN) is pleased to offer our trainees support to attend these upcoming virtual national and international diabetes meetings.
BCDRN trainees are eligible for reimbursement of their registration fees if they are enrolled in graduate studies in British Columbia* with a focus on diabetes research.
Funding application is a 2 step process:
First, register to attend the virtual meeting as a student.
Next, complete “BCDRN Trainee Virtual Travel Award” application and submit your receipt for reimbursement through UBC.

Diabetes Canada Annual Professional Meeting – October 28-30, 2020
Early-bird discount ends: August 12, 2020. Diabetes Canada is offering meeting registration for $100 CAD. Note: Trainees are also eligible for annual Diabetes Canada membership if they provide a letter of confirmation to pr[email protected]
UBC REIMBURSEMENT:
Please follow the steps below to apply for reimbursement through the BCDRN Trainee Virtual Travel Award program:
- Register for the virtual meeting you will attend.
- Visit BCDRN website to complete a Trainee Virtual Travel Award application: https://diabetesbc.ca/funding-opportunities/
- The award application will ask you to upload your registration confirmation/receipt, provide copy of the transaction details confirming the amount in Canadian funds, provide your UBC student number and mailing address.
