Steel Magnolias is Back
Steel Magnolias is Back
See the Show – Help Save the Metro
Originally produced more than 30 years ago, Steel Magnolias is an enduring story of friendship, family, love and loyalty. In 2020, Boone Dog Productions brought Steel Magnolias to theatre audiences in Vancouver and raised funds for the BC Diabetes Research Network.
Steel Magnolias’ first Vancouver run closed on March 8, 2020, only days before the province-wide shut down due to COVID-19. “It was surreal. The cast was so tight and when the show closed, we didn’t see each other for a year,” explains Lalainia Lindbjerg co-producer and actor.
Boone Dog Productions is back for a second run of Steel Magnolias for a new cause – the Metro Theatre. Located at 1370 SW Marine Drive in Vancouver, Metro Theatre is the iconic home to amateur and community theatre for decades in Vancouver. This year they are launching their 58th season and Lalainia express, “Due to COVID closures over the past 18 months, Metro is in danger of having to close its doors forever if it can’t run a successful season this year.”
Members of the BC Diabetes Research Network will receive a discount using the promo-code MAGGIES21. Please consider attending this great show and play a starring role to save the home of local theatre in Vancouver – the Metro.
Steel Magnolias runs between September 25 – October 10, 2021. To learn more or to purchase your tickets visit the Metro Theatre.
