The BC Diabetes Research Network is delighted to announce episode 6 of our official podcast: “Diabetes: From Beta Cells to Bicycles“. This is our 6th and final episode of Season 1. Thank you to everyone who has tuned in to listen to our new podcast series.
Episode 6 – Rachel Murphy
Host Krista Lamb is joined by BC Diabetes Research Network researcher Dr. Rachel Murphy from UBC Faculty of Medicine’s School of Population and Public Health. Dr Murphy focusses on the link between nutrition and chronic diseases, including diabetes and cancer. She discusses how proper diet and nutrition can benefit overall health, and help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.
From Beta Cells to Bicycles is the official podcast of the BC Diabetes Research Network. In our first season, host Krista Lamb sat down with six prominent diabetes researchers in British Columbia, discussing the many aspects of diabetes research and the exciting work being done in the field. The title refers to the multi-disciplinary nature of diabetes research – from lab bench discoveries to nutrition and exercise sciences, these researchers are working on all fronts to expand what we know about diabetes, and ultimately develop a cure.
